The '50s and '60s represented an era of excess when it came to automobiles from the US. Bigger, bolder and flashier were key ingredients for success, and Cadillac was one of the frontrunners with cars like this sixth-generation Eldorado Convertible. Just look at its almost impossibly long profile, the chrome-laden grille and pronounced rear wings.
Powered by a mammoth 7.0L V8 engine, coupled with an automatic transmission, this Caddy is not short on grunt (or sound). Drop the (black) top and you have the quintessential American Boulevard cruiser.
This low-mileage, well-documented car was imported into South Africa about seven years ago by a collector who has now run out of space - hence a reluctant sale.
It is a 1963 model in silver, with black leather and wood trim inside. Interesting trade-ins will be considered.
