One of the most iconic coupe shapes of all time was the work of a young Giorgetto Giugiaro for Bertone. The result was this, the 105/115 series of Alfa Romeo coupes. First introduced in 1963, it had a long production span (until 1977) and was based on the shortened platform of the Giulia sedan.
This 1970 Mk2 GTV 1750cc represents particularly well, having been fully restored in 2008. The lovely red paintwork is largely blemish free, and there are no signs of rust.
The exterior chrome is in excellent condition and the car rides on correct 14-inch steel wheels with chrome hubcaps. The vehicle is sold with an additional set of Momo wheels, as well as an additional bonnet.
The cabin, too, is largely unmarked, with wood trim on the centre console and dashboard, as well as an attractive wood-rimmed steering wheel. The seats are upholstered in Nero vinyl with the correct weave, and show very little sign of wear. The carpets, too, are very neat and this GTV still has its original windscreen, windows and original tags.
Mechanically the car is in excellent condition with the engine having been fully rebuilt with parts sourced from Alfaholics in the UK. The suspension and brakes were also attended to, and the twin-cam chains were replaced. The engine was rebuilt less than one year ago.
