Volkswagen's T2 (Transporter/Kombi/Bulli) or "Volksiebus" to call it by its South African nickname is undoubtedly an iconic machine, one that is associated with the spirit of adventure and family holidays.

First introduced in 1967, the second-generation had tough act to follow - the original split-window T2 is a highly prized collector's piece these days - but it certainly moved the "transporter" game forwards. Easier and more cost-effective to built, it also introduced a number of safety (front disc brakes)- and comfort-enhancing features.

This particular T2 is a 1972 model that is in the process of being restored. A lot of the important work has already been completed. The original 2.0L engine has been overhauled, the head- and taillamps replaced, and there is also a new brake system. The cabin's upholstery has been redone, too, in beige.

Furthermore, the vehicle is licensed, roadworthy and, according to the current owner/seller, it is rust-free. Work will continue on the vehicle (including new carpeting), and the price will be adjusted as it progresses.
