First introduced in 1978, the RX-7 was quite a statement car from the Japanese marque, and marked the arrival of a model derivative that would become an icon and darling of the tuning fraternity.

This 1981 example is a Series 2 derivative (FB), as indicated by its integrated bumpers and wraparound taillights. Power comes from a punchy and high-revving 12A 1.1L rotary engine which may not deliver eyebrow-raising outputs, but because the RX-7 is light, performance is good. This example is equipped with a manual transmission.

This car has only 65 664km indicated on the odo and presents very well with its silver exterior over beige/brown interior. It also features the highly sought-after wheel option that arrived with the Series 2 derivative. With its history being well-documented, this example is likely one of the best you'll find in SA.
