As the best-selling two-seat convertible sports car in the world, the Mazda MX-5 enjoys a reputation of being fun to drive, easy to look after, and an accessible entry point for motoring enthusiasts. Debuting in 1989, the MX-5 drew inspiration from the classic British roadsters of the 1970s and 80s, offering a minimalist and simplistic, yet modern and balanced design and mechanical package. More than 30 years later, it is a still a benchmark by which other sports cars are judged. 

This 1990 example, finished in Classic Red, has done only 35 570km and is in absolutely perfect condition. It was the second MX-5 to be delivered in Cape Town by Porters Auto Mazda, and has never changed hands until very recently. It has always been cherished and meticulously maintained (full service history at Mazda).

This 1.6L sportster is a no-frills driving machine (no air-con, no radio etc.), but delivers driving enjoyment in spades. It is fitted with the original 14-inch "Daisy" alloy wheels and the convertible is in excellent condition. Truly a special find.
