First introduced to the world as a coupe in 2003, and then as a convertible (GTC) in 2006, this was the first generation of Bentleys to use some mass-manufacturing techniques and parts commonality within the wider VW Group. That said, hand assembly was still a significant part of the assembly process of these special cars.

The Continental GTC is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.0L W12 engine that delivers a stonking 412kW and 650Nm of torque. It is claimed to be able to accelerate to 100kph in 5.1 seconds, and can reach a top speed of 314kph (roof closed) or 305kph with the roof down! Power goes to all four wheels via a 6-speed ZF automatic transmission.
