When Morgan released the Aero 8 in 2000, it was lauded as the historic British marque's first "supercar" and was the first all-new Morgan since the mid-60s! Its arrival also marked a significant change from previous Morgans, in that its chassis was now largely from bonded aluminium. 

Developed closely with BMW, the Morgan Aero 8 features the German marque's acclaimed 4.4L V8 engine, and in this particular model is coupled with a 6-speed manual gearbox driving the rear wheels. A limited-slip differential is fitted, as is ABS with EBD, but there is no nannying traction or stability control.

The engine delivers 245kW and 450Nm of torque, giving the Morgan strong performance with a 0-100kph time of 4.7 seconds and a top speed of just over 250kph.

It is a serious sportscar, with in-board shock absorbers, double-wishbones all-round, rose-jointed suspension and a flat floor. At 1 100kg it is also very light, given its power outputs.

 

It is also a properly luxurious grand tourer, with a turned aluminium dashboard, comfortable space for two, a decent-sized boot, air-conditioning, two airbags, cruise control and a heated windscreen. Included with the car is its "build book", a beautiful leather wrapped photographic record of the car's build process.

This particular Aero 8 is one of the last Series 3 cars made. The Series 3 can be distinguished by the fitment of Mini Cooper headlights, fixing the "squinting" look that the first Aero 8s displayed. 

This car has done less than 19 000km and is in pristine condition, with not a scratch on its forged wheels, and protective clear wrap on various parts of the body, such as the wide sills.
