Porsche doesn't get it wrong often, and while there's much to admire about the 996-generation of the 911, the company had to step up its game for the 997. This it did convincingly, and then further refined the recipe with the facelift introduced in 2008. Dubbed the 997.2, the upgraded car featured extensive revisions.

This 2007 Carrera S Cabriolet is powered by a howling flat-6 developing 283kW, enough for a 0-100kph time of 4.7 seconds and a top speed of just over 300kph. This example features Porsche's acclaimed PDK dual-clutch transmission.
