Latest Creative Rides Auction Kicks Off

Creative Rides latest online auction has gone live, and it offers a wide variety of classic cars, parts cars and memorabilia from a number of estates.

Words: Wilhelm Lutjeharms

We have previously reported on a number of Creative Rides’ online auctions. Most notably Creative Rides has been responsible for auctioning off one of the largest privately-owned collections in South Africa, that of the late Louis Coetzer.

Now it would appear that the final cars from his collection are being auctioned online, together with vehicles, parts and artefacts from other estates.

You can view the full auction list by following this link, which includes pictures of the various lots on auction and in some cases some minor details. It is clear that several of these cars are mostly non-runners and, in some cases, will only be useable as parts for other projects, while other cars will be perfect for a full restoration.

On the other hand, there are several cars that seem to have been stored inside a barn and that are in a respectable condition. Some of these include a light blue Cadillac Sedan de Ville, a Mercedes-Benz 200D Fintail, a Chrysler 383 Sedan, a Borgward Isabella 2-door and an Opel Rekord 1700 Sedan. Furthermore, there is a collection of model boats, two pinball machines and even an Oldsmobile Horseless Carriage.

BMW fans might be interested in an E30 Bauer Cabriolet, a car that is also in need of a restoration.

Auction details

The registration for the auction is already open and takes place from Wednesday 10 July until Sunday 14 July at 17:00 PM. Some of the lots can be viewed in Bloemfontein while the lots in Johannesburg can be viewed at Creative Rides’ showroom in Bryanston.

Creative Rides had the following to say about the auction: “The full catalogue is available for viewing on the Creative Rides app, which is a free download on both iOS and Android. Quick links are also available on www.creativeridesauctions.com. The app is the only platform on which bids will be accepted and the bidding currency worldwide is in South African rands (ZAR). Bidding registration is also through the app.”
