Here is a lovely example of Jaguar's voluptuous MkVIII, for the collector of fine English automobiles. In total, Jaguar built only 6 227 examples of the MkVIII, so it's not often that you see one of these come up for sale, particularly in South Africa.

Jaguar’s cars have always beautifully proportioned and the MK8 is no different. It shares its long wheelbase (3.05m) with its predecessor but is altogether sleeker, and has a particularly striking, long front-end. This example's curves are accentuated by the beautiful black/cream paint combination.  

Under the bonnet is a 3.4L straight-six which it shared with the XK140 which appeared two years prior to the MK8's introduction. Inside, this example has an elegant beige and maroon colour combination, along with loads of fine wood finishes.

This car's previous owner bought it in 2013, and the car had previously undergone a full restoration in 2006 (documentation is available). The restoration work included the engine, suspension, paint, chrome and a new interior, including the refurbishing of all wood as well as new carpets and leather upholstery. An aftermarket air-conditioning system was fitted as well as an auxiliary fan to prevent the Jag from overheating which allows the new owner to drive more comfortably.

 
The car spent most of its early life in Rhodesia and then Johannesburg, so corrosion is not a concern. The car was serviced annually by the current owner and holds a Heritage certificate. This lovely example of a rare Jaguar is a matching numbers vehicle.
