FOR SALE: 1981 Ferrari 400 Auto

An upgrade of the 365 GT4, the Ferrari 400 is a rapid GT powered by a V12 engine making all the right noises. Long ignored, diminishing numbers of good examples have contributed to the 400 finally getting the recognition it deserves.

Launched at the Paris Motor Show of 1976, the Ferrari 400 replaced the 365 GT4 and was the first model in the marque's history to feature an automatic transmission (as featured here).

Under the long bonnet was a 4.8L V12 that developed a healthy 250kW, good enough for a 0-100kph time of under 8 seconds. 502 cars were produced, of which 355 were automatics.

This example

The particular left-hand drive example was first registered in 1981 and is finished in Oro Longchamps (gold). It is in mostly original condition, and has obviously been well-maintained. Mechanically superb, it does, however, have a limited (mostly recent) maintenance record (often the case with Ferrari 400s). The indicated mileage of 102 000km is judged to be accurate given the condition of the vehicle.
