Nissan's '90s 300ZX Twin-Turbo has become quite a desirable Modern Classic, but this particular example is even more special... and packs a serious punch!

The '90s 300ZX Twin-Turbo was quite the statement car from Nissan back in the day, and seriously high-tech. Built to take on not only other Japanese sportscars of the time, but also to chase after hallowed marques such as Porsche and Ferrari, it has become quite a desirable modern collectible. It is also much-loved by the tuners of the world...
This particular example looks fairly stock inside and out, save for the racy gold 18-inch Volk wheels, and if you look closely, you may notice a row of extra boost gauges. But it is a real sleeper...
Power comes from a Toyota 2JZ (non-VVT) engine with a 1J head, ARP headbolts, bigger injectors, custom 90mm intake mated with a huge ball-bearing turbo (with a brand-new core from Full Boost Turbo Chargers) and a screamer pipe from the wastegate. The result is a whopping 400kW and 700Nm of torque at 1.5 bar boost!
This car was an official import by Nissan South Africa (with paperwork to prove). The subsequent work was then handled by the renowned Hannes Minnaar of MLD Racing, but has since been updated and refreshed front to back.
Turbo Smart parts fill the neat engine bay with braided hoses, Dave Engle Breather Box and a Matrix Boost controller. A custom 76mm exhaust is fitted, and LOUD. The car rides on new Michelin tyres and has a Madine triple-plate clutch mated with a strong Toyota 5-speed manual gearbox.
Interesting trade-ins will be considered.
