Stemming from an era when Rolls-Royce and Bentley were not rivals, but sister brands, the Silver Seraph was introduced in 1998, replacing the Silver Spirit, which was in production from 1980 to 1997.

In the end, the Silver Seraph had a relative short lifespan of only four years, as the Rolls-Royce Motor Car brand was sold to BMW early in its life-cyle. A mere 1 570 Silver Seraphs were produced, making it quite a rare thing indeed.

The Silver Seraph was, however, an important Rolls-Royce. It was powered by a 5.4L V12 engine, making it the first V12 Rolls since the late '30s. The car had a body that was 65 per cent stiffer than its predecessor and also boasted adaptive ride control, among other features.

This silver example dates from 1998 and is believed to be one of only 3 Silver Seraphs in South Africa. It features a beautiful metallic silver over grey finish. The odo indicates just shy of 45 000km but note that the clocks have been replaced and the actual mileage is somewhat higher (the replacement of the odo is recorded in the car's books).
