Dubbed the X150 internally, this generation of XK coupes was designed by Ian Callum who also penned the Aston Martin DB7 and Vanquish. The grille of the XK is said to have been inspired by the '60s E-Type. A major change (and improvement) over its predecessor was all-aluminium construction, which made it lighter. Powered by a 221kW 4.2L V8 engine mated with a 6-speed ZF automatic transmission, the XK Coupe 4.2 was no slouch, accelerating to 100kph in 5.4 seconds and on to a 250kph top speed.

The XK is a marvelous grand tourer, offering great long-distance comfort and luxury, and serious continent-crushing performance.
