Porsche aficionados were not overly impressed with the marque's first water-cooled 911, the 996, particularly because of its "fried-egg" headlamps. For the 997 generation Porsche returned to the tried-and-tested design that had served itself so well in the past, and also significantly improved all other aspects of the vehicle.

Porsche then further refined the 997 with the launch of the facelift (997.2) in 2009, introducing its dual-clutch PDK transmission and the larger direct-injection 3.8L flat-6 engine. In the Carrera S, this configuration resulted in a 0-100kph time of 4.5 seconds and a 303kph top speed. So it's certainly fast...

This 2009 model year (997.2) Carrera S has 46 500km on the clock. The factory options fitted to this model include the desirable Sports Chrono Plus package, PDK, navigation module for PCM, telephone module for PCM, sunroof, voice control system, floor mats, multifunctional steering wheel, as well as the universal multimedia interface.

The custom work that has been done to the car includes a full respray to replicate the grey colour shade used on the rare 997 Sport Classic model, including resprayed backrests on the seats to match the exterior colour, as well as the centre console.

Custom seat inserts have been added with the gear selector, interior door cards and sport chrono dial all covered in alcantara. It has the Sport Classic designed rear "ducktail" spoiler and a custom widebody rear. The car has also had a recent service by a well-known Porsche specialist in the Western Cape.
